WHO ARE WE AND WHY ARE WE DIFFERENT?

There are multitudes of Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) who serve employers in the workers’ compensation arena. We understand that choosing an MCO can be confusing for employers. The following are only a few reasons why our MCO is different and what we believe sets us apart from the others:

  • Ohio Employee Health Partnership is directed by Ohio’s leading Occupational Healthcare Providers. Our MCO is not owned by an insurance company or a third party administrator, TPA. It is owned and operated by a representative group of Ohio’s leading hospitals, physician specialist and research organizations.

  •
Ohio Employee Health Partnership is backed by one of the nation’s leading research organizations. Occupational Health Research (OHR) developed computerized injury tracking for workers’ compensation 20 years ago and is the nation’s leading developer of occupational health software. We use OHR’s state-of-the-art software systems to assist in reducing workers’ compensation costs for employers.

  • Ohio Employee Health Partnership has a strong ethical approach to this market.

  • Ohio Employee Health Partnership is committed to the needs of the injured workers and returning them safely back to work – other business is secondary to that focus.

  •  Ohio Employee Health Partnership assists employers through their expedient and responsive Customer Service Department.

  • Ohio Employee Health Partnership has Regional Case Management Centers throughout Ohio servicing employers at a local level of care and medical management.

  • Ohio Employee Health Partnership does not permit case managers to override physicians and deny care. We believe no one wants this type of decision-making. We wouldn't want it for ourselves and we certainly don't want it for our employees. Only a physician, after reviewing the claim, will deny treatment if appropriate.

  • As an MCO, we continually work towards a true partnership with our employers through:

  • Understanding your company and the uniqueness of your workplace and employers.

  • Providing timely information regarding your injured worker.

  • Recognizing a decrease in work-related injuries.

  •
Working towards “safe and early” return-to-work status through appropriate diagnosis, treatment and follow-up plans.

We believe these components are integral to quality managed care.
