Drug-Free Safety program (DFSP) information
Notice: New Drug-Fee Safety program replace Drug-Free Workplace Program, efective July 1, 2010
How Can This Happen?
BWC Invoice/ Statement
If you receive a billing notice from BWC, even after submitting your completed payroll report and payment, it could be the result of a premium desk audit, or adjustments to the group rating plan you are participating in. The BWC notice is not very explicit in noting the exact cause of the adjustment, though there is a billing description term included in the form. Other sources of adjustments can be the result of late premium payments or failure to report your payroll timely. If a claim had a violation of a specific safety requirement attached to it, the amount of the award is also billed directly to the employer.
Should you receive an additional billing notice, you can contact the BWC for a better explanation or if you utilize a TPA for group sponsorship, you may want to contact them to see if the rate initially quoted has changed. If you disagree with the assessment, you have appeal rights through the BWC.
